H+U’s success with the Brookings City & County Government Center is largely the result of the strong working relationships formed between our project team and the local contracting community as well as City and County officials. Local officials were so impressed with the level of service H+U Construction provided that at the grand opening ceremony, H+U’s Project Superintendent was declared an honorary “Jackrabbit” by Mayor Tim Reed, and awarded a key to the City of Brookings.
The new Brookings City & County Government Center features a combined City Council Chambers/County board room, conference rooms, administrative offices, and storage space. The new joint Government Center is the first combined City-County Government Center in the state of South Dakota. The Brookings City & County Government Center was completed on schedule and well below budget, with nearly $400,000 in project savings returned to the Owner at the end of the project.
