The Bryant + Tretbaugh Park Redevelopment project was a comprehensive transformation of two Bloomington community parks into modern, inclusive destinations designed to expand recreational opportunities and improve the overall park experience. The project revitalized Bryant Park with a new park shelter, an inclusive playground, skate spot, upgraded tennis and basketball courts, hockey rink, cricket pitch, baseball and softball facilities, improved trails and circulation, and enhanced natural areas. The new 2,544-square-foot shelter features geothermal heating and cooling, rooftop solar, and fully electric systems. Tretbaugh Park was transformed into Bloomington’s first dedicated bike skills park, featuring a paved all-wheel track with riding areas for multiple skill levels, a mountain bike course, new pavilion and gathering areas, improved parking and pedestrian connections, and expanded native prairie landscapes.

H+U Construction provided construction management services for the redevelopment of both parks, coordinating construction activities across two active sites while supporting project phasing, site logistics, and coordination with the City of Bloomington and project team. The redevelopment incorporated extensive sustainability and natural-resource improvements, including stormwater management enhancements, native plantings, habitat restoration, and new trees throughout both parks. With the completed improvements now open to the public, Bryant and Tretbaugh Parks provide more accessible, sustainable, and engaging spaces for recreation, gathering, and outdoor exploration throughout the Bloomington community.
