H+U Construction served as the Construction Manager for the City of Lake Elmo on the new City Center Project which consists of a new City Hall, Fire Station, and Public Works expansion. The building vastly improves upon the City’s current facilities, with new council chambers and city offices, as well as expanded space for public works operations and offices.

The building includes 19,000/SF of dedicated fire station space, as well as shared amenities including a fitness room, conference rooms, and a locker room. The new station includes five drive-through bays, a training tower, and living spaces such as a day room, dormitories, and dining area.

A portion of the “new” City Hall and Fire Station was constructed within an existing office building. Reusing the structure of the existing building saved the City an estimated $1.7M in concrete, precast concrete, and structural steel costs.
