The Waterfront project transformed a prominent site within Ramsey’s COR district into a premier regional destination focused on recreation, gathering, and year-round community engagement. Centered around a seven-acre pond, the new park features one of the region’s largest waterplay plazas, complete with interactive spray features, a cascading water wall, a shallow creek experience, and dedicated play areas designed for children of all ages. Additional amenities include shaded pavilions, picnic areas, waterfront seating, trail connections, fishing opportunities, and open green space that integrates natural landscape elements with active recreation. Inspired by Minnesota’s natural environment, the park incorporates boulders, water features, and native landscaping to create a unique public destination that connects residents and visitors to the outdoors.

H+U Construction served as Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) for The Waterfront, providing preconstruction and construction management services throughout the development of this signature community project. Working closely with the City of Ramsey, Damon Farber Landscape Architects, and the project team, H+U coordinated the complex construction of the waterplay plaza, site utilities, stormwater infrastructure, trails, pavilions, landscaping, and waterfront improvements. Through proactive planning, budget management, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination, H+U helped deliver a vibrant destination park that enhances Ramsey’s growing downtown district and provides lasting recreational, social, and economic benefits to the community.
