The Eagan Art House in Eagan was recently recognized as one of Finance & Commerce’s Top Projects of 2025, highlighting its impact as a premier community arts destination and a model for sustainable municipal development. Developed for the City of Eagan, the new 10,000-square-foot facility replaced the former residential structure that had served the arts community for decades, creating a purpose-built space designed to support growing participation in arts programming. H+U Construction partnered with JLG Architects and the City of Eagan to deliver a welcoming, modern environment that includes dedicated studios, gallery space, flexible classrooms, and specialized areas for ceramics and other creative disciplines.
The project also reflects the City’s commitment to sustainability and long-term community investment. Features including mass timber construction, geothermal heating and cooling, rooftop solar panels, native landscaping, and extensive daylighting strategies contribute to a high-performing facility that serves thousands of visitors annually. Completed in phases to allow arts programming to continue throughout construction, the Eagan Art House stands as a vibrant community asset and an example of successful collaboration between the City, design team, and construction partners.
