H+U Construction joined community members and project partners in celebrating the grand opening of Ravine Landing, a new facility at Cottage Grove Ravine Regional Park developed by Washington County Parks. Nestled within the park’s densely wooded landscape, the new building provides a welcoming gathering place for visitors and enhances the park experience for the surrounding community.
H+U served as Construction Manager on the project, working alongside the design team from HGA and numerous project partners. The new landing facility includes restrooms, storage, and event gathering space and is notable for being the first fully cross-laminated timber (CLT) building in Minnesota. The CLT and glulam structure were selected to reflect the natural surroundings, reduce embodied energy, and allow for two-way spanning that creates unobstructed views of the lake.
The ribbon cutting ceremony marked the official opening of Ravine Landing, which is now welcoming visitors daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Congratulations to Washington County Parks and all project partners who helped bring this unique and sustainable facility to life.
